Clinical Lab Assistant PRN
About The Position
The Clinical Lab Assistant PRN performs phlebotomy duties at Texas Health Fort Worth. The position is designated for phlebotomy only and does not include specimen processing responsibilities. Work is performed in a teamwork-oriented, friendly, and welcoming environment with a culture of excellence. The role’s listed areas of work include specimen integrity, test procedures, laboratory operations, professional accountability, quality control and documentation, and safety. The position is based at 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Fort Worth, Texas. Work hours are first- or second-shift hours, primarily 4:00 AM–12:30 PM, with occasional evening hours. The schedule includes every other weekend and rotating holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one-semester phlebotomy course.
- PBT (ASCP) Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred upon hire.
