Clinical Equipment & Surgical Support Specialist (Surgical Tech)

Los Angeles Center for Ear Nose Throat and Allergy•Los Angeles, CA

About The Position

The Clinical Equipment & Surgical Support Specialist (Surgical Tech) keeps in-office procedures (IOP) ready, supported, and consistent across every office. The role leads the IOP workflow on site, trains medical assistants, and tracks, maintains, troubleshoots, and coordinates repairs for equipment. It works closely with IOP leadership and the IOP/Equipment Manager, and travels between clinic locations as needed for training and operational needs. The specialist coordinates office readiness, monitors inventory levels for balloons and other IOP equipment, sends inventory update emails, and invites vendors one to two weeks before procedures to support their cases. The role handles preference card changes and updates, implements SOPs created by the IOP/Surgical Tech Manager, and provides feedback on those SOPs. Once finalized and rolled out, SOPs are the standard followed across all offices. The role uses the ticketing system and stays in communication with the IOP/Equipment Manager to coordinate repairs and keep preventive maintenance on track. It tracks on-site equipment by serial number and scope, diagnoses issues independently where possible, and relays issues to the team and the designated service person or vendor. The specialist uses judgment to determine whether issues should go through the ticketing system or be escalated directly. Failures of critical daily-use equipment that could slow or stop clinic operations must be flagged immediately and directly to the IOP/Equipment Manager. The specialist sends weekly status updates to IOP leadership, remains in close communication with the IOP Manager, and escalates matters outside the role's scope to the IOP Manager. Vendor contracts and supply ordering remain with IOP leadership; SOPs are authored by the IOP/Surgical Tech Manager; and this position orchestrates and leads workflow rather than working hands-on in procedures. The position is full-time and non-exempt, with a stated pay range of $32.00–$37.00. The work location is TBD in the Los Angeles area, and travel between clinic locations may be required. The role involves work in clinical and office environments, including a fast-paced clinical setting where patient safety and accuracy must be maintained.
