About The Position

The Clinical Support Tech supports clinic operations and patient care at University Hospital, with occasional coverage at 1 S. Park Street Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin, if necessary. Responsibilities include routine scheduling, specimen collection, medication administration under supervision, patient check-in and documentation, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures. This is a full-time, 100% FTE, day-shift position, Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. No weekends are required. Hours may vary based on departmental operational needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Clinical health care experience preferred.

• MA, CNA, EMT, technician (PT, RT, eye, etc.), athletic trainer, or other allied health discipline qualification, and/or enrollment as a student in an allied health program.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine scheduling activities.
• Assist with nasopharyngeal swabbing tests and other specimen collection.
• Administer medications, including injections, under supervision.
• Check in patients, including obtaining and recording vital signs, allergies, and current medications.
• Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, as appropriate.
