Clinical Support Tech
About The Position
UW Health is seeking a Clinical Support Tech to support patient care and clinic operations. The position is full-time (100% FTE), day shift, Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with no weekends required. The primary work location is University Hospital, with occasional coverage at 1 S. Park Street Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin, if needed. Hours may vary based on departmental operational needs. The role includes routine scheduling, assisting with nasopharyngeal swabbing and other specimen collection, administering medications including injections under supervision, checking patients in and documenting vital signs, allergies, and current medications, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures as appropriate.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma.
- Customer service experience.
- Clinical health care experience.
- MA, CNA, EMT, technician (PT, RT, Eye, etc.), athletic trainer, or other allied health discipline credentials, and/or enrollment as a student in an allied health program.
Responsibilities
- Complete routine scheduling activities.
- Assist with nasopharyngeal swabbing tests and other specimen collection.
- Administer medications, including injections, under supervision.
- Check patients in and obtain and record vital signs, allergies, and current medications.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, as appropriate.
