About The Position

The Clinical Assistant provides patient care by assisting with diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments ordered by physicians. Certification or registration as a medical assistant is not required; candidates with LPN, CNA, Medic, EMT, or CCMA qualifications are accepted. Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

This is a full-time role based at the Edina clinic, with occasional Saturday work at the Maple Grove location. The position supports patient visits and procedures and performs related clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Superior communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent direct patient care skills.
• Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices, business ethics guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark, and OSHA requirements.
• Ability to demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance, work efficiently and productively, handle interruptions, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload.
• Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally in person, by phone, and by email, and apply logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant, Military Medic, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Direct Support Professional diploma, equivalent, or certification; preferred but not required.
• One to two years of recent medical clinic experience.
• Phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to rooms, obtain vital signs, and document patient histories.
• Prepare rooms as needed for the specified visit type.
• Assist providers with pre- and post-operative appointments and procedures.
• Provide patient education pamphlets as requested.
• Process referrals by providing patients with information for scheduling.
• Assist patients with completing informed consent forms before procedures and send the forms to Medical Records.
• Retrieve calls regarding patient health problems, document them, and route the calls.
• Call in new prescriptions and refills to pharmacies after provider review and approval.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
