About The Position

The Clinical Assistant attends to patients before surgery and ensures relevant patient information is collected and recorded in preparation for surgery. The role includes communicating with patients, completing preliminary physical tests, maintaining patient records, and supporting pre-admission and consent processes. The Clinical Assistant also helps maintain a safe and healthy work environment and keeps supplies stocked.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, which must be maintained.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information, including medical history and purpose of visit, by communicating with patients.
• Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
• Record appropriate patient information on patient charts and/or Salesforce.
• Safeguard medical records and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Transmit physician orders and answer patients’ questions about surgery.
• Assist with preparing charts, pre-admission materials, and consent forms.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
• Maintain inventory of supplies as needed.
