About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing (Grant) to begin Fall 2026. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution located in Laredo, Texas. This is a temporary, full-time, non-tenure track position funded through a federal grant. The role involves creating virtual simulation scenarios, implementing immersive virtual simulation for clinical use and remediation, conducting faculty training on virtual simulation, and evaluating simulation effectiveness related to student learning outcomes. Service to the department, college, and university is also expected. This position requires face-to-face interactions on campus.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or graduate hours demonstrating significant progress toward the completion of a master's in nursing
  • 3 or more years of clinical nursing experience
  • Current unrestricted/unencumbered license to practice registered nursing within the State of Texas
  • If an advanced practice nurse, must meet and have all certification required for their specialty.

  • Ability to teach in areas that complement or strengthen both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs

Responsibilities

  • Creating virtual simulation scenarios

  • Providing service, as needed, to the department, college, and university
