About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing (4-positions) to begin Fall 2026. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8,000 students located in Laredo, Texas, a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250,000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery, teaching and learning, community engagement and public service, and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month academic faculty appointment. The Dr. F.M. Canseco School of Nursing is an accredited program by the Accreditation Commission for Nursing Education (ACEN) and is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON).

Requirements

An earned master's degree in nursing
Two or more years of clinical nursing experience
A current unrestricted/unencumbered license to practice registered nursing within the state of Texas
If an advanced practice nurse, must meet and have all certification required for the specialty
An earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited university (strongly encouraged)
ABDs will be considered but must have earned a doctorate before the appointment
One or more years of teaching experience in higher education (for ABDs)

Responsibilities

Teaching assigned nursing courses
Supervising student clinical experiences
Evaluating students' progress in course work and clinical experience
Completing all administrative aspects of courses taught
Advising students throughout their program of studies, as appropriate
Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum, as appropriate
Serving on and participating in college and university committees
Providing service to the community and profession
