About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing to begin Fall 2026. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8,000 students located in Laredo, Texas. The university focuses on advancing knowledge through research and discovery, teaching and learning, community engagement, and public service, with an emphasis on student success and research excellence. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month academic faculty appointment. The Dr. F.M. Canseco School of Nursing is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Nursing Education (ACEN) and approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON).

Requirements

  • Earned master's degree in nursing
  • Two or more years of clinical nursing experience
  • Current unrestricted/unencumbered license to practice registered nursing within the state of Texas
  • If an advanced practice nurse, must meet and have all certification required for the specialty

Nice To Haves

  • Earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited university
  • Advanced practice nurses (ABDs will be considered)
  • One or more years of teaching experience in higher education

Responsibilities

  • Teaching assigned nursing courses
  • Supervising student clinical experiences
  • Evaluating students' progress in course work and clinical experience
  • Completing all administrative aspects of courses taught
  • Advising students throughout their program of studies, as appropriate
  • Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum, as appropriate
  • Serving on and participating in college and university committees
  • Providing service to the community and profession
