About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, is seeking to hire four Clinical Assistant Professors of Nursing to begin in Fall 2026. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution located in Laredo, Texas, with over 8,000 students. The university is dedicated to advancing knowledge through research, teaching, learning, community engagement, and public service, with a strong focus on student success and research excellence. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month academic faculty appointment. The Dr. F.M. Canseco School of Nursing is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Nursing Education (ACEN) and approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON).

Requirements

• An earned master's degree in nursing
• Two or more years of clinical nursing experience
• A current unrestricted/unencumbered license to practice registered nursing within the state of Texas
• If an advanced practice nurse, must meet and have all certification required for the specialty
• An earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited university (strongly encouraged)
• ABDs will be considered but must have earned a doctorate before the appointment
• One or more years of teaching experience in higher education (for ABDs)

Responsibilities

• Teaching assigned nursing courses
• Supervising student clinical experiences
• Evaluating students' progress in course work and clinical experience
• Completing all administrative aspects of courses taught
• Advising students throughout their program of studies, as appropriate
• Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum, as appropriate
• Serving on and participating in college and university committees
• Providing service to the community and profession
