About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of both the dental and medical departments. With a Quality, Customer First, and Compassionate approach, The Clinic Supervisor will work in collaboration and continuous partnership with providers, clinical staff, and community resources in a team approach to promote access to appropriate care in the goal of enhancing patient health. They will provide back-up assistance to clinical support staff, ensure departmental goals are met, and respond to and document patient clinical concerns as appropriate. The role involves communicating with facility management concerning cleaning and maintenance issues, and working closely with the Clinic Manager to ensure efficient and consistent compliance with clinical and operational policies and procedures. Additionally, the Clinic Supervisor will participate in pre-visit team-based planning, monitor utilization reports, ensure effective scheduling, and address patient needs. They will also participate in collaborative projects, planning of CQI measurements, and be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and maintaining staff levels. Ensuring timely and objective evaluations, providing counseling, performing disciplinary actions, and planning new hire training and staff development are key responsibilities. The role also involves assisting in the development and completion of new hire training, reviewing training of current employees, motivating staff, and ensuring operations budget is within department/site budgets, including overseeing supply ordering.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Associate’s Degree in Medical Staff Services Management
  • Certified Medical Assistant training.
  • 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current immunizations are required to work at Sunrise Community Health and may vary dependent upon the position
  • Influenza (Flu) Vaccines are required for ALL staff.
  • N95 Testing is required for Clinical positions and facial hair must not interfere with the seal or valve function of the respirator.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of both the dental and medical departments.
  • Work in collaboration and continuous partnership with providers, clinical staff, and community resources in a team approach to promote access to appropriate care in the goal of enhancing patient health.
  • Provide back-up assistance to clinical support staff.
  • Ensure departmental goals are met including referrals, lab manifest, outstanding order report, VFC/IZ’s, Specialty clinic, MA check off sheet completed.
  • Respond to and document patient clinical concerns as appropriate, following CQI concern tracking protocol.
  • Communicate with facility management concerning cleaning, and maintenance issues.
  • Work closely with the Clinic Manager to ensure efficient and consistent compliance with clinical and operational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in pre-visit team-based planning, including review of daily schedule and chart by care team; documented instructions are written on the schedule, typed into the EHR appointment note, or in the EHR as a flag or clinical list update; ensure patient visit is more efficient by identifying records from transitions of care are available during the patient visit, results from labs or diagnostic are in the EHR, labs or other services that are not specified in the standing orders protocols.
  • Monitor utilization reports for accountability and access.
  • Ensure effective scheduling to optimize resources and meet patient demand.
  • Ensure patient needs are being appropriately addressed through scheduling and triage.
  • Participate in collaborative projects as designated by CMO and Director of Operations.
  • Participate in planning of CQI measurements.
  • Responsible for recruiting and hiring employees. Maintain staff levels per FTE guidelines.
  • Ensure timely and objective evaluations of direct reports, provide counseling, perform disciplinary actions and terminations, plan/ensure new hire training and staff development and, forward appropriate and complete documentation to HR in a timely manner.
  • Assist in development and completion of new hire training and skills. Review training of current employees.
  • Motivate staff to achieve organizational/departmental goals. Provide regular recognition for achievements.
  • Ensure operations budget is within department/site budgets. Oversee supply ordering.
