About The Position

As a Business Development Manager, the position secures contracts with owners, developers, and builders in multiple-dwelling-unit and multi-tenant communities, expanding the reach and revenue penetration of Verizon Home Internet services. Contracts include Broadband Access Agreements that authorize network buildouts and Marketing Agreements for co-marketing Verizon services. These agreements provide network deployment access and preferential marketing positioning for Verizon voice and internet services to residential and small-business customers. The customer base ranges from properties with ten units to portfolios with tens of thousands of units. Contract value may be measured through access-line valuation, RCM, reduced churn, or prevention of competitive losses. The role coordinates with local Verizon Engineering to secure license agreements for constructing hybrid wireless-to-the-premises networks on and through targeted properties. It develops prospects and relationships through direct customer contact, calls, email, social media, property tours, discovery sessions, presentations, and follow-up. The position conducts needs analysis, identifies buying influencers and their budgets and timelines, manages prospect records and sales reporting, negotiates agreements, and closes long-term cooperative marketing deals. It also presents Verizon’s capabilities consultatively, participates in industry events, and works with local Outside Plant Engineering organizations to identify construction opportunities. The territory covers Portland, Oregon, and surrounding areas. Employees must live within 50 miles of their assigned territory or module. This is a mobile role, primarily based at customer or field locations, with occasional visits to a Verizon location for training and meetings. Travel of up to approximately 75% is expected. The position has 40 scheduled weekly hours and is commission-based, with potential to earn more.
