About The Position

Intertek is hiring a Retain and Disposal Clerk for its Caleb Brett team in Romeoville, Illinois. Caleb Brett provides cargo inspection and analytical assessment services to the oil and gas, chemical, and other commodities markets. The position is located inside a chemical testing laboratory and reports directly to the Lab Manager. The clerk handles retaining and disposing of materials for Intertek and its clients, maintaining related records to support accurate, timely, and cost-effective service. The position outline is a general guideline and may not encompass every duty.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift sample materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to follow established protocols and safety procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of at least one semester of college-level chemistry.
• Prior work experience in a laboratory environment.
• Experience handling chemicals or prior hazardous-materials training.
• Forklift driver certification.

Responsibilities

• Transfer and retain samples and other requested materials according to the retain process.
• Dispose of or prepare samples and other requested materials for disposal according to the disposal process.
• Maintain supplies needed to carry out retain and disposal procedures.
• Maintain appropriate records related to retaining and disposing of samples and materials.
• Perform courier duties to client sites.
