About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Retain and Disposal Clerk to join the Caleb Brett team in Romeoville, Illinois. The position is located inside a chemical testing laboratory and reports directly to the Lab Manager. The clerk handles retaining and disposing of materials for Intertek and its clients, maintains related records and supplies, and supports accurate, timely, and cost-effective service. The role also includes courier duties to client sites.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift sample materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to follow established protocols and safety procedures.
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of at least one semester of college-level chemistry and/or prior work experience in a laboratory environment.
• Experience handling chemicals or prior hazmat training.
• Forklift driver certification.

Responsibilities

• Transfer and retain samples and other requested materials according to the retain process.
• Dispose of or prepare samples and other requested materials for disposal according to the disposal process.
• Maintain supplies needed to follow the retain and disposal processes.
• Maintain appropriate records associated with retaining and disposing of samples and materials.
• Perform courier duties to client sites.
