About The Position

Camin Cargo is a provider of inspection, testing, and certification services in the oil and gas industry. The Laboratory Retain Technician oversees the collection, storage, and management of petroleum product and chemical samples retained for regulatory compliance, quality control, and future testing. The role helps maintain sample integrity and ensures samples are stored in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, collaborating with laboratory staff to keep samples properly maintained and ready for analysis or testing.

The position follows a rotational schedule of four days on and four days off, with 12-hour shifts. The role may involve collecting samples from local offices as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during sample preparation, testing, and equipment calibration.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to chemicals and laboratory hazards, while following safety protocols.
• Good vision to read and label sample containers and clearly interpret documentation.

Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and store petroleum product and chemical samples according to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure sample retention activities meet environmental, health, and safety requirements, including proper labeling, safe handling, and secure storage.
• Retrieve and prepare retained samples for testing or inspection as requested.
• Work with laboratory staff to store samples in the correct containers and ensure required documentation is filed and accessible.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations.
• Maintain sample-retain storage areas and ensure adequate supplies are available for sample collection and storage.
• Pick up samples from local offices as needed.
• Perform other duties as defined.
