About The Position

Within the context of a client service culture and in accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, works as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide senior secretarial program support. Supervises three (3) to ten (10) designated staff by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments, evaluating employee performance and determining related training and orientation requirements. Prepares staff schedules, receives and processes approved requests such as vacation, leave of absence and terminations and maintains timekeeping records for staff. Attends meetings, compiles and maintains a variety of statistical/financial information, sets up and maintains filing systems, identifies supplies and orders replacement items.

Requirements

  • Grade 12.
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial program and three years recent related experience including (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 55 w.p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
