The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 who enjoys keeping important operations organized and efficient. In this role, you will support clinical and nursing staff at the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home by helping manage schedules and completing essential clerical tasks. Requirements

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Graduation from high school
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a long-term care or large healthcare facility
  • Experience in clerical duties such as typing, data entry, proofreading, filing, and phone support
  • Experience working in an office setting as a clerk or personal assistant
  • Experience working in SAP or SRM entering shopping carts/requisitions

Responsibilities

  • Create, adjust, and post nursing schedules using scheduling software
  • Review call-off lists and contact available staff or agencies to fill shortages
  • Assist nursing leaders in assigning or reassigning staff to maintain care levels
  • Maintain overtime lists, call-off records, and staffing files
  • Prepare reports on overtime, staffing levels, and scheduling issues
  • Provide general clerical support including typing, filing, and handling calls and visitors

Benefits

  • Full-time employment; 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes) for new Commonwealth employees
