The Pennsylvania State Police is looking for an enthusiastic Clerical Assistant 2 who enjoys meaningful work. Requirements

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • All employees must obtain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
  • Two (2) years of data entry experience.
  • Two (2) years of customer service experience.
  • Willing to work onsite full-time.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update License to Carry and Sportsmans Firearm Permit records for accuracy
  • Enter and verify State Police documents in the automated system with careful attention to detail
  • Organize, encode, and extract needed details before completing data entry tasks
  • Follow all laws and policies related to maintaining secure and confidential records
  • Contact Sheriff and County Treasurer offices to request missing information and explain required procedures
