About The Position

The Cleaning/Janitorial Associate maintains a clean, organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor scrubbers and buffers, dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows. The associate follows operational, merchandise, loss prevention, health, and safety standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position is at the TJ Maxx store at 7804 Charlotte Hwy, Fort Mill, South Carolina, with an early-morning schedule indicated in the job title.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
• Capable of multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
• Cross-train in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
• Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
• Follow the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
• Follow operational and loss prevention controls, including shrink-reduction guidelines and policies.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
