About The Position

The Cleaning Ambassador provides visible, street-level cleaning services throughout an assigned zone to help make public spaces cleaner, friendlier, and safer. The role involves removing litter and graffiti, pulling weeds, and wiping and straightening outdoor surfaces. Ambassadors maintain a positive, professional demeanor and greet pedestrians and visitors, providing directions or city information when needed. They also watch for unwanted behavior or criminal activity and report it to Safety Ambassadors using two-way radios. The position requires basic daily reports in English and continuous walking or traversing during an eight-hour shift. Work is outdoors in all conditions; uniforms are provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.
Ability to speak, read, and write English to complete basic reports.

Nice To Haves

Experience is preferred, but not required; training is provided.
Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of cleaning tasks in the assigned zone while maintaining high visibility at street level.
Maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
Acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting or smile, and provide directions or city information.
Move through the zone with a rolling trash can stocked with supplies and tools, removing litter and debris from streets, sidewalks, and alleys.
Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, and other surfaces.
Pull weeds from tree wells, sidewalk cracks, and vacant lots.
Damp-wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces such as trash can lids and news boxes.
Watch for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report them to Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios.
Complete basic daily reports of tasks completed.
