About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The work includes routine and periodic cleaning of interior building spaces, floors, rugs, furniture, windows, walls, bathrooms, and trash areas, as well as snow removal from designated entrances and walkways when directed. The role requires using cleaning tools and equipment and maintaining attention to detail, organization, service quality, and energy and endurance.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior building surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and other areas, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both inside and outside, and wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate each day.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including cleaning surfaces and fixtures, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, and sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing floors.
• Monitor and report possible defects, such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, building entrances, and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic work such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
