About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning and maintaining floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, walls, and bathrooms; collecting and disposing of trash; monitoring and reporting maintenance defects; and clearing snow from entrances and walkways when directed. The role also includes periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing, as well as other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must be able to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, and scrub floors and other indoor surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines with attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash entrance-door glass and trim, and wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies; damp-wipe glass, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet-paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, and stall partitions, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor and report possible defects, such as clogged urinals and lights that are out.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
