About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include routine cleaning of floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, bathrooms, and other building surfaces; replenishing bathroom supplies; collecting and disposing of trash; and clearing snow from entrances and walkways as directed. The role also includes periodic high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing, as well as other assigned duties.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, and scrub floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean them daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and other areas, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows; wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both inside and outside.
• Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate on a daily basis.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies; clean glass, waste baskets, dispensers, sills, tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and nonfunctioning lights, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area; replace liners according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
