About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning and maintaining floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, and bathrooms; replenishing supplies; handling building trash; and performing periodic cleaning tasks. The role may also include clearing snow from entrances and walkways as directed, monitoring and reporting defects, and completing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash interior floors and other surfaces.
• Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean daily and shampoo when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and high surfaces periodically.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash or spot-clean glass and trim at entrance doors and clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies; wipe glass, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves and stall partitions, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily and place it in approved containers in designated collection areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
