About The Position

The Cleaner maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment by performing routine janitorial services at assigned locations. The role ensures cleaning tasks are completed in accordance with company standards, client expectations, and safety procedures, while contributing to a positive and professional work environment.

The position performs routine cleaning and sanitation in areas such as floors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas. It includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, emptying trash, disinfecting high-touch surfaces, and replenishing facility supplies. Cleaners follow schedules, report maintenance or safety concerns, and complete assigned documentation.

The Cleaner follows company safety procedures, handles chemicals and equipment properly, wears required PPE, and keeps exits, eyewash stations, and walkways accessible. The role also involves cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and supplies, keeping janitorial closets organized, communicating operational issues to supervisors, and participating in store-management walkthroughs when requested.

Work takes place in warehouse, retail, grocery, or distribution environments. The position requires night-shift availability, travel to assigned work locations, and willingness to work varying shifts based on business needs. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds. The role regularly uses a mobile phone and may require operating floor scrubbers, buffers, pallet jacks, and other equipment.

• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment as required.
• Hearing and vision sufficient to safely perform job duties.
• Regular use of a mobile phone for communication and work-related tasks.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of floors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and empty trash receptacles.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and replenish restroom and facility supplies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, safety hazards, supply shortages, accidents, and facility concerns to the supervisor.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures, handle cleaning chemicals and equipment properly, and wear required PPE.
• Keep emergency exits, eyewash stations, and walkways clear and accessible.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and promptly report malfunctions.
• Clean, maintain, and store assigned equipment, tools, and supplies after each shift; drain, clean, and charge equipment as required.
• Maintain janitorial closets in a clean, organized, and stocked condition.
• Complete assigned checklists and documentation accurately.
• Communicate daily assignments and operational concerns with supervisors and team members.
• Participate in walkthroughs with store management when requested.
