About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and cleaning floors, surfaces, glass, and windows, while maintaining cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store. The Cleaner also follows health and safety, operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention policies; supports customer experience practices; and may be cross-trained to work in other store areas to meet business needs. This is a part-time position at the TJ Maxx store in Kent, Washington. The starting pay range is $17.13 to $17.63 per hour; the full pay range is $17.13 to $27.20 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Operate the scrubber and buffer; dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including maintaining and operating the scrubber and buffer.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
Cross-train in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, to support business needs.
Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
