About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services according to established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, glass, walls, and bathrooms; replenishing restroom supplies; collecting and disposing of trash; and clearing snow from entrances and walkways when directed. The Cleaner also performs periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing, monitors for maintenance issues, and carries out other assigned duties.

This is a full-time third-shift role. The listed compensation range is $16.01–$18.84. Pay may depend on factors including collective bargaining coverage, work location, local market rates, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications; the company will not pay less than minimum wage for the role. Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean them daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows; wash glass and trim at entrance doors.
• Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies; clean glass, waste baskets, dispensers, sills, tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and floors.
• Monitor for possible defects, such as clogged urinals or lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash, place it in approved containers and designated collection areas, and replace liners according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from building entrance steps and walkways, and connecting walkways or sidewalks, as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
