Cleaner, Full Time 3rd Shift
About The Position
The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning and maintaining floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, bathrooms, and other interior surfaces; collecting and disposing of trash; restocking bathroom supplies; and reporting defects to supervisors. The position may also involve sweeping or shoveling snow from building entrances and walkways as directed, along with periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
- Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
- Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
- Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
- Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean daily and shampoo as directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and periodically high surfaces.
- Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
- Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, and wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
- Clean bathrooms daily, including glass surfaces, waste baskets, soap and toilet paper dispensers, sills, tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and floors; restock paper supplies.
- Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area for removal.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
