About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The role includes cleaning and maintaining floors, rugs, furniture, windows, walls, bathrooms, and other interior surfaces; collecting and disposing of trash; replenishing bathroom and waste supplies; reporting defects; and clearing snow from entrances and walkways when directed. The position also involves periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean them daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves and stall partitions, and cleaning floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
