About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The role includes routine cleaning and upkeep of building interiors, bathrooms, furniture, windows, floors, and public areas, as well as periodic cleaning tasks and other duties as assigned. The position is part-time and is listed for the second shift.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and periodically high surfaces.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily, including glass surfaces, waste baskets, dispensers, sills, tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and floors; restock paper supplies.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights that are out and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers and designated collection areas, and replace liners according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, building entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
