About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. This is a part-time second-shift role.

The work includes cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, bathrooms, and other interior surfaces; replenishing restroom supplies; and collecting and disposing of building trash. The Cleaner may also sweep or shovel snow from building entrances and walkways when directed, perform periodic high dusting and polishing, and carry out other assigned duties. The role requires the ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, attention to detail, and the ability to work cooperatively with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash interior floors and other surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows; wash glass and trim at entrance doors.
• Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate on a daily basis.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including cleaning surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet-paper dispensers, and sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights that are out and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area; replace liners according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting sidewalks when directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
