Cleaner, Part Time 2nd Shift
About The Position
The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The role is part time and on the second shift. The Cleaner maintains floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, glass, walls, and bathrooms; handles building trash and waste-container liners; monitors and reports defects; and may clear snow from building entrances and walkways. The position also includes periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing, along with other assigned duties.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
- Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
- Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
- Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
- Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot clean daily and shampoo rugs when directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
- Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
- Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, and wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
- Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including cleaning surfaces and floors and servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers.
- Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
