About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services according to established standards, instructions, and procedures. The role includes cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, walls, and bathrooms; collecting and disposing of trash; replenishing bathroom supplies; and reporting defects to supervisors. It may also include sweeping or shoveling snow at building entrances and walkways, along with periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, and scrub floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean daily and shampoo rugs when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies; clean surfaces and fixtures, empty waste baskets, service dispensers, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, building entrances, and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, care of leather and wood surfaces, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
