Cleaner Part Time
About The Position
Janitors keep assigned areas, such as offices, commercial spaces, industrial spaces, or institutional buildings, clean and orderly. The Cleaner works successfully with fellow employees, clients, and all levels of the organization; follows verbal and written instructions; and uses basic communication skills to explain how to complete a task. The position involves performing routine cleaning and stocking duties, following safety and company procedures, maintaining a professional appearance and conduct, and supporting the shift lead as needed. No previous cleaning experience is required. Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and, where applicable, drug and/or alcohol screening in accordance with applicable laws and company requirements.
Requirements

- Follow verbal and written instructions and communicate using basic communication skills.
- Be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds, frequently lift 0–10 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Meet the described physical activity requirements, including standing, walking, handling and gripping, reaching, pushing and pulling, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Successful completion of a background check and, where applicable, drug and/or alcohol screening may be required.
Responsibilities
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures, and use proper personal protective equipment.
- Perform work assignments as part of a team and maintain a clean work area.
- Follow company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
- Communicate professionally with the lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers.
- Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, and contribute to customer service and satisfaction.
- Coordinate activities with other internal departments and participate in team meetings.
- Vacuum, edge, and dust assigned areas.
- Clean and stock restrooms and breakrooms.
- Clean windows.
- Empty trash and transport it to the proper disposal area.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures; participate in HSEQ training and report potential hazards or compliance concerns.
