About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning floors and surfaces, vacuuming and shampooing rugs, dusting furniture and other surfaces, cleaning windows and glass, maintaining bathrooms and replenishing supplies, collecting and disposing of trash, and reporting maintenance issues. The role may also involve snow removal and periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a backpack-style portable vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean daily and shampoo rugs when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily; clean surfaces, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, empty waste baskets, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers and designated collection areas, and replace liners according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
