About The Position

Wonderful College Prep Academy (WCPA) is seeking on-call Classified Substitutes for various roles including Instructional Assistants, Small Group Instructors, Expanded Learning Mentors, Office Assistants, and Campus Supervisors. The schedule and hours will vary based on the specific assignment. WCPA is a free, public charter network in California’s Central Valley committed to providing a world-class education. Founded in 2009, WCPA offers two TK–12 public charter schools serving 2,400 students in Lost Hills and Delano, California. Our mission is to foster a nurturing, engaging, community-centered school environment where students develop a strong academic foundation, preparing them to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners. Requirements

  • Experience working in educational or after-school programs is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to varying schedules and program needs.
  • Professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing program needs.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational, intervention, and enrichment activities that align with program goals.
  • Support student engagement and positive behavior through organized activities and supervision.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of students during school hours.
  • Assist with record-keeping, including daily attendance, and provide administrative support.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for students and staff.
  • Collaborate with program staff and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols in all activities.
  • Attend professional development sessions and staff meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform general clerical duties, including answering phones, taking and distributing messages, sorting mail, translating documents, and preparing general correspondence.
  • Help with filing, data entry, and maintaining student records.
  • Provide support to the leadership team and teachers as necessary.
  • Responsible for department supply order purchases.
  • Responsible for securing sub coverage for the school site & distributing necessary sub plans/documentation.
  • Supervise and direct student movement as needed.
  • Monitor general campus, parking lots, and adjacent areas to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
  • Report unauthorized or suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities to administrative staff.
  • Assist with fire drills and other emergency building evacuations.
