About The Position

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is hiring a Class A Route Delivery Driver in Reno, Nevada. The driver operates a company motor vehicle to transfer freight safely and efficiently between specified locations by scheduled times. The role includes delivering and picking up freight, unloading, sorting, palletizing, and reloading freight manually or with mechanical assistance, and completing paperwork required by government regulations and company procedures. This is a local position with daily home time and dedicated routes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 9 a.m. start time, and pay is $35 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• At least 21 years of age.
• At least 1 year of commercial driving experience.
• No DUI or DWI in the past 3 years.
• No more than 3 traffic violations in the past 3 years.
• Must have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain them; renewals are reimbursable.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment skills assessment.
• Able to frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
• Able to safely maneuver freight or pallets weighing up to 2,500 pounds onto a dolly or cart with up to 130 pounds of force, with mechanical aid, in various environments and conditions.
• Able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for up to 20 feet.
• Able to hook and unhook commercial combinations, manually lower and raise landing gear, operate fifth-wheel release levers, lock and release pintle hooks, attach and release safety chains, open and close cargo doors, climb into and out of vehicles, and fuel vehicles and check oil and coolant levels.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Deliver and/or pick up freight at customer locations and/or a terminal as instructed by dispatch or the immediate supervisor.
• Ensure shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies shipments to their delivery points.
• Load and/or unload a wide variety of freight onto and off a company motor vehicle at customer locations and the terminal, with or without mechanical assistance.
• Sort, palletize, and reload freight as needed.
• Complete paperwork required by government regulations and company procedures and policies.
