About The Position

NIS Express is hiring Class A CDL Driver Trainees in Van Buren, AR. If you have completed 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school, you qualify for our paid one-on-one training program. No over-the-road experience required. Our training program is built for new drivers who are serious about starting a long-term career in trucking. It includes 3 to 5 weeks of fully paid one-on-one training with a dedicated trainer, real miles, and real freight. Training topics include safe tractor-trailer handling, ELD compliance and hours-of-service logging, pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, and NIS Express dispatch procedures and company policies. Supervised evaluations are conducted before going solo, and you will only go solo when you are ready.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL license required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Completion of 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school (drivers with a valid Class A CDL and no OTR experience are also welcome to apply)
• Acceptable driving record with a focus on safety
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Transport no-touch dry van freight – approximately 70% drop and hook
• Meet delivery appointments and maintain on-time performance
• Keep accurate ELD logs, DVIRs and trip reports
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report issues immediately
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers
