About The Position

NIS Express is seeking Class A CDL Driver Trainees for a paid training program in Little Rock, AR. This program is designed for new drivers who have completed at least 120 hours at an accredited CDL school and are looking for a long-term career in trucking. The training is fully paid, one-on-one, and lasts 3 to 5 weeks, with a dedicated trainer assigned from the start. Trainees will gain hands-on experience with real miles and freight, covering topics such as safe tractor-trailer handling, ELD compliance, vehicle inspections, and company policies. Supervised evaluations will be conducted before drivers go solo, ensuring readiness.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL license required
Must be 21 years of age or older
Completion of 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school (drivers with a valid Class A CDL and no OTR experience are also welcome to apply)
Acceptable driving record with a focus on safety
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and in compliance with all DOT regulations
Transport no-touch dry van freight – approximately 70% drop and hook
Meet delivery appointments and maintain on-time performance
Keep accurate ELD logs, DVIRs and trip reports
Perform daily vehicle inspections and report issues immediately
Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers
