About The Position

American Driver is hiring recent CDL Class A graduates based in Alexandria, LA to join our OTR fleet running east of I-35. We offer a paid training program with a dedicated mentor for new CDL holders. After training, drivers typically run 2,200–2,500 miles and earn between $1,200 and $1,500 weekly. The role involves dry van freight with no-touch loads, approximately 60% drop and hook, consistent miles, and minimal downtime. Runs can be day or night depending on dispatch. Drivers will be home every two weeks on a consistent and planned schedule. Equipment includes assigned Freightliner and Kenworth tractors (2022–2025) with APUs.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Must possess a valid Class A CDL.
Graduates of an accredited CDL program with at least 120 hours of instruction are eligible.
Open to recent CDL holders.
No major violations or at-fault accidents in the last 3 years.
No DUI within the last 5 years.
Must pass urine and hair follicle drug screening.

Responsibilities

Complete a 4-6 week paid training program with a dedicated mentor, focusing on real routes, safety, inspections, and day-to-day operations.
Operate assigned Freightliner and Kenworth tractors (2022–2025) with APUs.
Transport dry van freight with no-touch loads, with approximately 60% drop and hook.
Maintain consistent miles and minimize downtime.
Complete day and night runs as per dispatch.
Adhere to a schedule to be home every two weeks.
Participate in additional pay opportunities for stops, layovers, and breakdowns.
