Claims Technical Intern - Summer 2027
About The Position
The Claims Technical Intern will join Great American Insurance Group’s Claims Management team for summer 2027, supporting a Claims system alongside technical analysts, Data Push developers, and another intern. The conversion team moves data from legacy systems, Snowflake, and other sources into Guidewire ClaimCenter. The backend team processes claims data into the Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Snowflake. This is a hybrid role combining in-office and remote work, with employees expected to maintain a meaningful on-site presence. The intern must be able to work in the office at least three days per week. The role is within Property & Casualty IT Services.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Data Analytics or a related field, with an expected graduation year of 2028 or 2029.
- Ability to read and decipher data models and schemas.
- Ability to read and write SQL queries.
- Experience with application testing.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work in the office at least three days a week.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain documentation, including user stories, process flows, and requirements.
- Update integration mapping documents.
- Analyze Non-Prod Sonic and Recycle errors.
- Assist with data correction on Claim Payloads.
- Work on ERB requests for downstream mapping.
- Assist with application testing.
