About The Position

This summer 2027 internship opportunity is designed for talented college students looking to jump-start their careers in the insurance industry. As a Claims Intern, you will perform various claims tasks, primarily focusing on reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing documentation related to auto and property claims. The daily functions may vary based on storm season claims, and you will also be assigned other projects and duties. Interns will participate in corporate activities to gain exposure to the industry, organization, and culture. The program follows an 80/10/10 approach: 80% on meaningful work and project-based assignments, 10% on learning and networking with employees in other areas, and 10% on shared internship experiences providing insight into company culture, leadership, and business operations. This internship offers a chance to gain entry-level insurance experience in claims and general corporate exposure.

Requirements

  • Current college student (Agricultural, business, collision repair or insurance major preferred).
  • Quick learner and able to obtain a basic understanding of auto and property insurance policies.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Team focused.
  • Available to work at least 30 hours per week during the summer of 2027 from our office in Lincoln, Nebraska.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.
  • Not seeking any type of immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing documentation in relationship to auto and property claims.
  • Performing other projects and duties as assigned.

  • Spending 80% of time performing meaningful work and project-based assignments within the department.
