About The Position

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a motivated student to join its team as a Claims Representative Intern for summer 2027. The intern investigates and assembles facts, determines policy coverage, evaluates losses and legal liability, and pays or denies claims. The role involves learning insurance coverage through the study of policies, endorsements, and forms; working toward claim resolutions; issuing accurate and timely payments; and serving agents, policyholders, and others. Investigations may be conducted by phone, mail, or on site. The intern may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary. Pay starts at $18.00 per hour. The ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship is required.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in college and entering junior or senior year.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to resolve complex issues.
• Ability to organize and interpret data.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Serve agents, policyholders, and others.
