Civil Design Intern
About The Position
The Civil Design Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting land-development projects across the Southeast. The intern will assist with site-development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects; water, sewer, and storm-drainage layouts and construction drawings; permit packages; project coordination; modeling and drafting; and documentation. The role involves working with project managers, engineers, and design teams, with mentorship from experienced engineers and designers. It is an on-site internship with a condensed Monday–Friday schedule that may be flexible to accommodate academic commitments. Sponsorship is not available.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Interest in land development and site design projects.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented setting.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to Civil 3D.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing site-development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Support the design of water, sewer, and storm-drainage layouts and construction drawings.
- Assist with permit packages and coordination with regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams on daily project tasks.
- Support modeling and drafting efforts using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Assist with project documentation and organization to support scope, schedule, and quality goals.
