About The Position

EXP is seeking a Civil Intern to join its Transportation and Infrastructure Practice in Rome, Georgia. Under the direct supervision of a senior civil engineer, the intern will learn and perform diversified civil engineering work, including design of highways, freeways, and local streets. The role includes preparing construction plans with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D, working with construction specifications, and estimating quantities and costs. The candidate should communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.

Requirements

• Currently studying for a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of civil design and civil design computer programs.
• Knowledge of CADD programs such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with MS Office software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Geopak and 3D modeling is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with analysis and review of roadway plans, traffic data, reports, and geometric designs.
• Assist with planning and preliminary roadway designs.
• Perform analysis and design calculations according to applicable design codes, using computer programs as appropriate.
• Prepare construction plans using CADD programs.
• Prepare construction specifications.
• Perform material quantity take-offs.
• Organize design calculations.
