About The Position

A full-service national law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas is seeking an attorney to join its civil defense litigation team. The attorney will work alongside experienced litigators on sophisticated employment and commercial litigation matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, representing professionals, businesses, and insurers in complex litigation. The position offers hands-on experience, direct client interaction, and mentorship across a broad range of matters. The work arrangement is hybrid in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Requirements

• Admission to practice law in Michigan.
• Three to five years of commercial litigation and/or labor and employment litigation experience.
• Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Insurance defense litigation experience.
• Experience handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
• Experience managing matters independently.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of commercial litigation and labor and employment litigation cases from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, breach of contract documents, and other litigation-related documents.
• Conduct legal research and assist with litigation strategy and case analysis.
• Manage discovery and prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Communicate directly with clients, insurers, opposing counsel, and witnesses, providing regular case updates and strategic guidance.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex litigation matters.
• Provide proactive case management and client reporting.
