About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging After School Instructor to lead our Choir and Music programs, alongside various STEAM activities. This role involves teaching students in grades K-5, fostering their creativity and interest in music and science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. The instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction during after-school hours from October to November.

Requirements

Experience working with children in a K-5 age range.
Demonstrated knowledge and passion for music and/or STEAM subjects.
Ability to manage a classroom effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable and punctual.
Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans.
Background check may be required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as an after-school instructor.
Experience with specific STEAM disciplines like 3D printing or robotics.
Musical performance or teaching background.
Bilingual abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead and instruct Choir and Music classes for students in grades K-5.
Facilitate engaging STEAM activities, including 3D Printing, Little Detectives, Survival Science, Makers Club, Little Engineers, and Dough.
Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans.
Communicate with program coordinators regarding student progress and any concerns.
Prepare materials and set up the classroom for each session.
Ensure all program activities align with the organization's mission and goals.
