About The Position
We are seeking a passionate and engaging STEAM - After School Instructor to lead our Wacky Science, Magic, Print Making & Pottery programs for students in grades K-5. This role involves teaching classes from October to December, Monday through Thursday, from 3:45 PM to 4:40 PM at our West Hempstead, NY location.
Requirements
- Experience in teaching or instructing children, preferably in a STEAM-related field.
- Ability to manage a classroom of K-5th grade students.
- Familiarity with science, magic, print making, and pottery concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual for scheduled class times.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with after-school programs.
- Background in art or science education.
- Specific experience in teaching Wacky Science, Magic, Print Making, or Pottery.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in STEAM-related programs including Wacky Science, Magic, Print Making & Pottery.
- Manage classroom activities and ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different grade levels (K-5th).
- Prepare and deliver program content effectively.
- Communicate with program coordinators regarding class progress and any issues.
