About The Position
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced instructors to lead our after-school programs focused on Robotics and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Instructors will facilitate engaging and educational classes for students in grades K-5, covering topics such as Robotics with Edison, Wacky Science, Oceanic Exploration, and Nature Watch. The program runs from September to December, with classes held Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at our Ann Arbor, MI 48108 location.
Requirements
- Experience in teaching or instructing children, preferably in a STEAM or robotics context.
- Knowledge of robotics and/or various STEAM subjects.
- Ability to manage a classroom of K-5th grade students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be available Monday - Friday from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM.
- Must be available from September - December.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Edison robots.
- Background in science, technology, engineering, arts, or mathematics.
- Experience in curriculum development or lesson planning for children.
Responsibilities
- Lead and instruct students in Robotics and STEAM-related activities.
- Facilitate classes on various topics including Robotics with Edison, Wacky Science, Oceanic Exploration, and Nature Watch.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
- Engage students in hands-on learning experiences.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and program coordinators.
