About The Position

The Childcare Attendant (Cooperized Kidz Instructor) is a position in the Cooper Fitness Center’s Cooperized Kidz Club, an on-site childcare service available to members and approved guests while they remain on campus for a particular service. The Childcare Attendant / Cooperized Kidz Instructor will provide quality active-based childcare for patrons of the Cooper Fitness Center and Spa, which involves creating a safe, productive, fun, and educational environment for the children. The philosophy of Cooperized Kidz is to “Play with a Purpose.”

Requirements

  • Must be highly motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Computer Skills (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Must physically be able to participate in all duties required.
  • Lift 50lb
  • Stand, squat, sit, and play
  • CPR child certification
  • Experience in the childcare industry is required
  • 18 years of age with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe, clean environment for children.
  • Cares for and takes responsibility for children present at all times (never leaving them unattended or unsupervised).
  • Plans and conducts age-appropriate activities and games for children in line with the provided curriculum.
  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
  • Follows guidelines and child: caretaker ratios.
  • Changes diapers and helps children in the bathroom as needed.
  • Promotes physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth in children.
  • Practices exemplary customer service toward children, their parents, members, and fellow teammates.
  • Communicates effectively with director/coordinator as needed and through daily logs.
  • Books and tracks childcare reservations.
  • Collects payment from all patrons.
  • Manages child behavior and promotes a positive experience.
  • Documents and handles all incidents.
  • Greets and updates parents regularly.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and adheres to the Cooper mission.
  • Follows all Cooper policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Attends departmental and company-wide meetings.
  • Completes duties on site with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
  • Fills in for other youth program functions when necessary.
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned.
